Callum McGregor finally speaks out about leaving the club this summer

Callum McGregor has spoken to Sky Sports reporter Luke Shanley this morning about the season ahead. In the interview, the Celtic captain made it clear that he would stay at the club this season and that his focus was on driving standards ahead of the new campaign. After being asked whether he was going to be here this season 33 year old Callum said.

“Yeah absolutely, listen this is a football club I’ve been a part of my whole life since I was 8, 9 years old, its where I want to be, it’s where I want to play football and ultimately I want to keep driving everything I possibly can to make sure this club is successful. Eventually the day you do leave it, you want to leave it in a really good place.”

The news that the Celtic captain will be staying during a season of squad transition will be a welcome boost for Celtic fans everywhere. The fact that McGregor is committed to helping Celtic be as good as they possibly can be will be seen as a major positive by both the fans and by those within the club.
