Celtic have reportedly moved on from their interest in Scottish left back James Penrice after the club made an initial enquiry recently. According to Ben Jacobs on X, Celtic were considering the former Hearts man as an option for Kieran Tierney’s back up this season after a permanent deal for Marcelo Saracchi failed to materialise. Penrice moved to AEK Athens in Greece last summer for a fee of around £2million and was linked to a return to Scottish football via Rangers recently. Supposedly Celtic have not followed up on their initial interest in Penrice and have now moved on to other targets.
Celtic have also been credited with an interest in bringing back Greg Taylor to the club after he left this time last year to join PAOK. A loan deal for the former Killie man has been rumoured after he told Charlie Mulgrew on the Pitch to Par podcast that he would not rule out a return to Celtic in the future. Dundee Utd’s Will Ferry has also been mentioned as a possible option for Celtic as they look to reinforce the left back position before the beginning of the new season. It will be interested to see who the club decide to bring in before the summer window closes.
