Celtic drew 2-2 with Seria A giants AC Milan this afternoon in an entertaining friendly at Celtic Park. Celtic raced into a 2-0 first half lead after goals from Duran and Forrest. The Columbian scoring three goals in as many games for Celtic in pre season. Milan brought it back to 2-2 thanks to a quick fire double after half time. Duran deserves credit for continuing his goalscoring and creating Celtic’s second. However, the second half substitutes also impressed after coming on.
Firstly Reo Hatate looked motivated and a bit more like himself as he continues to be linked with a move away from the club. He came on and looked ready to get involved.
Callum Osmand also looked lively after coming on and definitely added something up top with his frantic energy. The striker didn’t give the defence any time on the ball and won back possession on several occasions.
Maybe the surprise package of the day was youngster Thomas Hatton who had a couple of key moments after coming on. Firstly a shot from distance that went just wide after he managed to break free from the AC Milan defence. Secondly, he put in a great cross for Oxlade-Chamberlain who put the chance past the post at the end of a good move. Celtic fans will have liked what they saw from the 19 year old’s cameo at the end of the game. Hopefully he can continue to receive chances to keep impressing moving forward. Especially with a lack of quality wingers currently at the club.
