According to reports, Manager Martin O’Neill has told the media that Maik Nawrocki, Michel-Ange Balikwisha and Paolo Bernardo may move on this window. Despite saying he was giving the three players a clean slate, he also hinted they would be down the pecking order and find game time limited.
Opinion
It’s unlikely the three players mentioned will play a major part this season based on O’Neill’s comments. The manager has hinted that all three could move on this summer but that would depend on the offers received and whoever else leaves the squad in what is expected to be a big turnaround this summer. We know that Bernardo can play well but he has lost his way in recent times. A fresh start is likely needed for the former u21 captain. I think most fans are confused by Nawrocki’s situation based on what we’ve seen. He looks a much better option for the club than Dane Murray. He’s one that could force his way back into the managers plans but a move back to Germany could also be on the cards. Maybe that one is more to do with Champions League squad quota requirements than ability. It certainly wouldn’t be a surprise to see any of these players leave Celtic Park this summer on a permanent or a loan.
